i'm REAAAAALLY bad a rythm games but your fangame is really cool !! it's so fun to play with all these songs, i wonder what it'll really be in the real (DELTARUNE TOMOROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) game, but honestly, great job !!!!!!! 

I tried to play it on mobile but the screen shrinked and I can't even click on the buttons :(

suggestion, instead of making kris's anim play when you press a note, make it play like, 1 anim for the left key, 1 anim for the right key, they have 2 positions with their bass in the trailer

also maybe make the anims a lil longer after clicked, when the game detects there is notes to click or smthn, so the anim doesnt keep stopping and begginning

This game is very fun! If I were to request some features, and early/late indicator would be amazing. The game's scroll speed is comfortable for me but I wouldnt mind being able to adjust that too. Also the game occasionally has pretty big lag spikes? Graphics Acceleration is on for me, so does anybody have any solutions?

Thanks, yeah I'd like to add both of those features at some point, although custom maps are the thing I'm working on now, so they'll be after that. The main thing I can suggest for fixing lag right now is if you're using Firefox, try running it in Chrome/a Chromium based browser.

There would be some advantages to using a custom map format, but midi has the huge benefit of not needing a custom map editor (for myself as the dev, and for others when I release custom map support), since any DAW (including free ones) can be used to make maps. Making an editor would be a full project on its own, meaning there's no way I would have gotten the game out before Ch3&4 (and tbh I probably just wouldn't have bothered making it at all if I had to do that). And midi is fine for what this games needs anyway since it's just 2 inputs, with hold notes

May I suggest 2 more songs? I'd say "My Castle Town," and then "Empty Town". :D  again only a suggestion but so far I love this.

Though it becomes a hot mess on my phone if the song is longer than a minute (FoH&D straight up slowly shuts itself until the notes appear out of bounds), I’m glad I can play on it fairly decently! Props for releasing it before the actual game lol, looking for seeing more added to it in the future >v<

Why is Lost Girl a hard track? I was able to 100% after about 4 tries and i'm... not very good at this game. It seems more like a normal track to me. 

Great game tho, this is like the nitpickiest  of nitpicks.

Thanks for playing, glad you like it! So turns out, when I pasted over the metadata file from another track, I forgot to change the difficulty. It'll be fixed in the next patch that'll be out very soon

This is a really well made and fun fangame, but when i try to fc the queen battle original there is one slide note that is impossible to hit. I've tried hitting it really early, hitting it really late, and mashing the button, but I always miss it and lose my combo. Is this a glitch or do i just suck at the game

Yeah it's already been pointed out to me, turns out I just accidently placed 2 notes in the same place, so when you try to hit it, you hit one but miss the other. It'll be fixed in the next patch

I'd definitely like to do Undertale maps at some point, although Ch3&4 tracks will be first. The only problem with adding even more maps is that it will make the file size larger (and by extension make initial load time longer) but more maps is worth it so I'll likely do it anyway.

i’ve had a pretty bad bug happen a few times where releasing a held note even slightly too late deducts 200 points, and holding notes longer than a beat or so (even when they’re shown that way in the beatmap) deducts 200 points every tick until the key is released. seems to randomly fix itself sometimes and i don’t know why, but it also randomly comes back.

great game aside from that! really love the attention to detail

edit: it seems to consistently happen after the game window loses focus

Oh sorry, can't seem to replicate that myself. What browser are you using? Firefox seems to cause a lot of problems so if it's that, Chrome/a Chromium based browser should hopefully work better. And are you playing on desktop or mobile? Mobile is just more buggy unfortunately. The really weird thing is that it shouldn't even be possible to get the penalty while holding the button, it specifically uses the just_pressed() function, which only counts the first frame it's pressed. I'll look more into it and see if I can find out the cause.

There's a small bug where it still detects key presses and subtracts from the score on the score screen, also I wish there was an option to rebind the controls.

Fun game, I'm interested to see where this goes after Ch3&4 are released.

Oh, thanks for telling me about the score screen bug, it'll be fixed in the next patch. Yeah a control rebinding menu is something I'd like to implement at some point, but it will probably take a while since custom maps is the next main feature I'm going to work on. Until I get that working, if there's a specific bind you'd like I can add it as an additional input myself so it will work as well as the current ones, as long as that button isn't used for something else

tl;dr maybe eventually as alternate difficulties, but not to played simultaneously since I'm pretty sure that won't be how it works in deltarune because of how hard it would be, and because looking at the score and max combo, it doesn't seem to increase when his notes are hit, so I'm pretty confidant that only Kris' part is controlled by the player there. Ralsei's and Susie's parts could be alternate difficulties though, with Ralsie's being an easy mode, and Susie's being a hard mode that's unlocked once you beat Kris' (which is why it's crossed out, not just a joke about not being able to control her)

Trying to get 80% on Queen Battle Original was torture, but the fun kind of torture. I love the fun kind of torture, so this is an 8/10 for me!

This is really good! Only feedback I really have is the overworld section. I have done a lot with that in Godot and have gotten it very accurate to UT/DR. Everything else is very good though and the overworld is very insignificant here. Do you ever plan on releasing the source code for this project?

Thanks, glad you like it! Yeah I was originally wanting to launch with custom maps, but that would have taken a while so it likely wouldn't have been able to launch before Ch3&4. But I will be working on custom maps, to hopefully release them in a future update!

That is a banger but I think I'm going to stick to just original deltarune tracks (for now at least, idk maybe in the future), whenever I get custom maps working, you (or anyone else) can make your own map for it!

It doesn't seem to be playing music or notes at all in any of the maps.

Are you using Firefox? The weird way it loads Godot itch.io games causes it to break often. So try Chrome/Chromium based browser instead if you're using Firefox.

Ah, yeah, that's a shame. Oh well.
